this is the best article of its kind I've ever read https://www.theverge.com/23642073/best-printer-2023-brother-laser-wi-fi-its-fine
Folks, I encourage you to not work for @OpenAI for free:
Don't do their testing
Don't do their PR
Don't provide them training data

@amy I like to get a cup of coffee and have a walk; going outside and just walking for half an hour or so really gives me an energy boost
@132ikl I'm starting to think I picked the wrong time to jump instance (from .lol though so I guess that had to happen anyway)
@ionchy it's a thing on some windows laptops too; it's supposed to stop you from accidentally moving the cursor while you're in the middle of typing something. iirc on macbooks and some nicer windows machines they disable that in favour of more sophisticated palm rejection
the most important part of the history of Unicode is the time that a mouse fell out of a light fixture and got added to the count of members present at a Technical Committee meeting
@Vierkantor free fuzzy clocks! I think my personal highlight from the documentation is where it says that it's easy to remember if you just think of "01/02 03:04:05PM '06 -0700", as if anyone has ever written a date like that in their lives
I've just found out that to declare a date format in go, instead of using some sensible format, you have to format this date yourself:
Mon Jan 2 15:04:05 MST 2006
so instead of "hh:mm yyyy-mm-dd", your format specifier has to be "15:04 2006-01-02" with that exact date, otherwise it won't work
sorry, /what/?
@ionchy Comotopy Lype Deory?
Medium article: "Coding won't exist in five years. This is why."
First paragraph: "once upon a time, in a world not too different from ours, handmade clothing was the norm."
Comrade. Friend. I really need to tell you that clothing is still hand made. We just exploit people in the global south to make tons of it cheaply.
controversial food poll
@violet_cybrespace if it weren't for the fact both lasagnas have a distinct top layer I might say they become one, but as it stands it would be easy enough to take the top lasagna back off, so I've got to say they're still separate
